IWK AUXILIARY'S 98TH KERMESSE FUN FAIR!
It was truly a “fun fairâ€Âť as hundreds walked the grounds of the IWK with smiles on their faces and laughter in the air. The Honourable Mayann E. Francis, lieutenant governor of Nova Scotia officially opening the 98th fun fair. There were activities and entertainment for all ages including flea market with homemade goodies, dancers, musicians, games and prizes for the kids. Since its inception in 1911 the IWK Auxiliary has raised more than $3.5 million to provide non-medical comfort items, amenities and services for IWK patients and their families. The Kermesse was not only a fundraiser but was also an opportunity for the community to express their compassion for IWK patients and their families, and pay tribute to the many who volunteer their time and energy to help those in our community who require care. If you would like to get involved please call the Auxiliary office at 470-8918.
