National Hunger Awareness Day

On June 2, National Hunger Awareness Day, we joined the staff, volunteers and distinguished guests at FEED NOVA SCOTIA. The purpose of National Hunger Awareness Day is to create awareness of the impact hunger and poverty have on communities. At least 38,000 people visit a food bank or utilize a meal program each month. Sadly that number is on the rise. During these hard financial times Food banks across Nova Scotia and Canada are experiencing challenges in providing for the needy. FEED NOVA SCOTIA is calling on all Nova Scotians to donate food, money, time or anything that would be helpful to the families in need. For more information visit www.feednovascotia.ca.
