Atlantic Cirque
On Friday, November 21st, CBC television show host Heidi Petracek and her crew were visiting Atlantic Cirque’s new facility and its students. The local show “Living Halifaxâ€Âť is an entertaining and informative daily half-hour show that offers a fresh, hands-on approach to life in Halifax. It was Heidi’s first time at Atlantic Canada’s school of circus arts. During her visit, she had the chance to try the trapeze and spinning plates.
Atlantic Cirque opened its door over 6 years ago and welcomes over 100 students every week in its new facility in Burnside, The new 3500 square foot space, 34 foot ceiling is filled with circus apparatus and welcomes kids ages 3 to teenagers as well as adults of all ages. At Atlantic Cirque, individuals have the opportunity to learn different circus techniques like: aerial skills (trapeze, cerceau, diamond, flying rope, silk), acrobatics, contortion, trampoline, human pyramids, handstand, juggling, unicycle, stilts walking and much more. It is a very good physical activity to develop aptitudes like coordination, strength, flexibility, concentration and creativity in a structured and safe environment under the instruction & supervision of circus professionals.
