SPCA 1st Annual Adopt-A-Thon
Saturday, July 12th was indeed all about the animals at the Nova Scotia SPCA. The Metro Shelter hosted its first ever adopt-a-thon to encourage people to welcome a new pet into their home. Over 100 cats and kittens and 40 dogs were available for adoption, and the shelter certainly pulled out all the stops to help these deserving animals find loving new homes.
In addition to meeting the many fabulous felines and adorable dogs visitors enjoyed a BBQ, SPCA merchandise sales, an “Ask a Vet†booth, the opportunity to meet with dog trainers, a giant book sale and lots of prizes during the day of festivities.
For anyone considering adding a four-legged friend to their family, Pictures and profiles of the pets available for adoption can be viewed at www.petfinder.com/shelters/metrospca.html
Congrats to Lincoln, Maverick and Little Ben who were adopted while I was there!
